Delivering the key note, Lt Gen PP Dimpane said, “We gather not simply as police leaders and members; who wear the same uniform, but as a policing family united by a solemn calling; to protect life, uphold the law and serve the people of South Africa with courage, integrity, discipline and compassion. The Annual SAPS National Prayer Day provides us with an opportunity to step away, for a moment, from the intensity of policing and to place before God the realities confronting our nation, our communities, our members and their families”. She added, “this National Prayer Day takes place during Police Safety Month, creating a powerful connection between our spiritual responsibility and our practical duty to protect those who protect society”.
